Chantier Naval De Marseille - Facilities

Chantier Naval de Marseille, strategically well located in the heart of Marseille eastern harbor, has one of Mediterranean’s largest heavy industrial facilities.

The harbor benefits from a direct access on the west Mediterranean Sea with no tide or lock restriction, which means vessels up to 11,70m can enter CNdM docks with no time constraints.

Directly connected to highway A55, CNdM is close to the town center (6 km from Marseille central train station), and to the airport of Marseille Provence (20 km).

The area takes advantage of a favorable climate for ship repair activities, with an average of less than 60 days of rain per year.

Dry-docks and berths

CNdM operates dry-docks n.8 and 9 in Marseille Port , capable of receiving the largest vessels, and 450 linear meters of completely equipped berths. From mid 2015, CNdM will put back in operation the dry-dock n.10 (the largest in the Mediterranean) with a 465 x 85m capacity.

The dry-docks, directly managed by the shipyard, are covered by cranes up to 50 tons (150 tons at dock n.10) The dry-docks are run on a 24h/7days year round basis and can be mobilized under short notice.
